Fort Towson Ramblings 11/22

School is out for the next 10 days. The children are happy to be able to sleep in and the teachers, too. The only problem for us
adults is that we still wake up at the same time. Many people are camping out for the next few days. I hope everyone has a safe
holiday. And remember it is only a month until Christmas.

The Nutrition Site will have its Thanksgiving/Christmas lunch on December 5. It will be a potluck. You clan bring your favorite
dessert or vegetable dish. But you need to let Freda or Barbara know what you plan to bring so we do not have 10 potato salads
and no green beans etc. The site will cook the ham. Come and enjoy the fellowship. I know everyone else does.

I forgot to mention all of the November birthdays. Allen Stinnett-3rd; Casey Brents-5th; Heaven Pettyjohn-7th; Sharon Ridenour-10th; Waylon Cloud-15th; Grace Trusty-20th; Brenda Pate and Jeanie Butler-28th and Trish Reese and Peggy Wysong-25th. Sent them a card or give them a call.

This Friday as I write and the weatherman finally got something correct the wind is blowing furiously. I hope it keeps blowing and takes all of these leaves with it. I can hardly see the house for all of these leaves. We swept the roof recently for all the good it did. Usually I round up the leaves in piles with the garden tractor and use them in the flower beds or chicken house. By now you know that Robert Shufeldt passed away. I enjoyed visiting with him when he was at Baptist Village. His dad, Adolph, was
a dear friend. He volunteered at the school library. Adolph was very knowledgeable about history and current events. My condolence to the family.

Please keep December 1-2 open on your calendars. Plan to attend the Lake Raymond Gary Christmas Boat Parade. If you would like to participate, contact Mary Fossum. Also at the park under all of the beautiful lights Santa will be making an appearance for pictures. The weather phenomena La Nina is in control of the weather, so look out for a warm dry winter. We sure do need some rain, but I bet the cows are loving this weather. All of you have a pleasant Thanksgiving. Don’t over eat. And Ladies, its time to go shopping. Don’t forget to give thanks to whom thanks is owed.

Thomas Edison once said ” The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are: hard Work, Stick-to-itiveness and Common sense.”
