Words of Wisdom

Give and it shall be given to you
A Long Night
A drunk phoned the local police department to report that thieves had been in his car. “They have stolen the dashboard, the steering wheel, the brake pedal, even the accelerator,” he cried out. However, before the police investigation could start, the phone rang a second time, and the same voice came over the line. “Nevermind,” the drunk said with a hiccup. “I got in the back seat by mistake.”
According, to St. Matthew’s gospel, found in St. Matthew 14:8-21, his argument was that Jesus will challenge His followers, (disciples), to intentionally minister to the lost, or non-believers, (or sinners), such as the widows, orphans, and the strangers with their last resources. By St. Matthew 14:14,15, Jesus had decided to still away with His disciples to help deal with the murder of his cousin John the Baptist; who was beheaded by the order of the evil King, King Herod. “Herod did not want to kill John the Baptist, but he gave the order so he wouldn’t be embarrassed in front of his gust. How easy it is give into the crowd and let ourselves be pressured into doing wrong.” And at the request of his live-in lover he had John beheaded, because she was offended at John’s preaching on how they were living in sin “(They were live-in lovers).” You see, when our love ones bad experience situations such as sickness, pain, and namely death, it devastates us because we love them so much. However, since God should be number one in our lives, we should grieve for awhile but soon after grieving we should recommit to a life of doing ministry, for Good and for others. “Jesus sought solitude after the news of John’s death. Sometime we may need to deal with our grief alone. However, Jesus did not dwell on his grief, but then returned to the ministry he came to do.”
In short, Jesus grieved John painful death for a short time, but He quickly refocused on His sent ministry of helping and healing the lives of others. Now, when the people heard about the death of John they knew that Jesus was hurting so they followed Him, and His disciples into the wilderness to minister to them, and be ministered too. And while they were in the wilderness many of their love ones became sick unto death, but Jesus healed them. Jesus also perceived that they were going to need food because the day was coming too an end, and the sun was going down. “And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.”
However, the healed sick and their love ones quickly became hungry, and because they were in a desert place, Jesus disciples informed Him that the people were now starving and in need of food; and they did not have enough money to feed them all. Thus, the next question the disciples had for Jesus was how, and who could feed all these people? They concluded that they should send them away into the local villages, and found food so that they could eat. However, Jesus had a different plan He said “you feed them”, and they said we only have five barley loafs, and two fish; it was a little boy’s lunch. And as history has it, this miracle that day, and to feed a multitude with a little boy’s lunch. And as history has it, this miracle of feeding five thousand people beside the women and children, with just five biscuits, and two fish proved that little becomes much when we give it to God. Not only did the disciples feed the five thousands until they were full, they took up twelve baskets of bread and fish. Wow! its true little becomes much when we intentionally place it in Gods hand!!!!
