Funeral services for Ms. Tootsie Young were held Thursday, May 2, 2019, at 2:00pm at Spencerville Community Church. Interment was in Spencerville Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, in the Chapel of Miller & Miller in Hugo.

Ruby Corrine “Tootsie” Young was born September 15, 1955, in Hugo, the daughter of John “Frank” and Ruth Ann (Blankenship) Young and was the baby of the five children born to them. She had lived all of her life in the Sawyer area.

Tootsie left this world to go be with her Maker on April 27, 2019, at the age of 63.

She worked as a cook for most of her life and everyone loved her cooking as she had her own unique touch. She liked having the option of being off stage or sneaking to visit ones she knew.

Tootsie didn’t do crowds but loved to laugh and have fun.

She enjoyed taking her nieces and nephews swimming and fishing or anything for them to laugh and have fun doing together.

They felt as if they looked like the Clampetts going to town with their cane poles hanging out the windows!

Tootsie was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Johnny Ray Young; a sister, Delores Ann Hill; and a nephew, Ronald Jones.

Survivors include: two sisters, Susan Kay Young of Kingston and Virginia Faye Young of Apple community; several nieces and nephews along with many other relatives and friends.
